I have taught a variety of grades for over 17 years. I first started my career as an Algebra I/II, Spanish, and Art teacher at a private Christian academy. From there I entered into the public school system by returning to my childhood elementary school where I taught 4th grade for 5 years. I entered into the world of ESL after receiving my certification. There I taught English to novice 2nd-5th grade ELLs from all over the world. I learned a lot about differentiation in order to meet learners' needs. In 2010, I returned to the classroom where I taught 6th grade math and science. The following year, I moved up to 8th grade where I've been teaching math and advanced math (HS Math I). I became AIG certified in order to work with my higher population. I have been the lead math teacher and math department chair for my school. I am also grade chair and a mentor. I am in charge of the Academic Derby and the National Junior Honor Society. I am currently working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
