Brooke Perry is a co-founder of the National Blogging Collaborative. She is currently working as an English Language Arts TOSA (teacher on special assignment) in Kent School District, where she’s been a classroom teacher for 6 years. In her TOSA position, she is supporting 3rd – 6th grade teachers in the implementation of the district’s new ELA curriculum. As a Puget Sound Teacher Leader and whole-hearted believer in high expectations for students, Brooke writes about the Common Core, effective teaching strategies, and assessment practices for CORElaborate; a blog hosted by the Puget Sound Educational Service District.
As a member of their Teacher Advisory Council, Brooke works frequently with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support effective teaching practices and to bring teacher voice to the forefront of our nation’s conversation about public education. Believing that nobody knows teaching like teachers, Brooke introduced ECET2 (Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teachers and Teaching) to the Seattle area; hosting 100 educators for a day of teacher-to-teacher professional learning and celebration.

About the National Blogging CollaborativeNational Blogging Collaborative (NBC) is a free service created for teachers, by teachers in an effort to get more educators contributing their voices to the national education narrative.
Since October, 2014, NBC has been cultivating and supporting the capacity of all educators to use their unique voice to elevate the craft of teaching and learning. NBC’s founders have been supporting and encouraging teachers to write - write with each other, write independently, write on topics of professional importance, and/or write on topics of personal interest. NBC has also developed a network of coaches who support you in the writing process.
If you’re new to blogging, NBC will help you find your passions and identify possible solutions to your problems of practice. NBC coaches will support you in developing confidence and skills necessary to share your authentic voice.
If you’re an experienced blogger, NBC protocols will help you to refine your writing and make it more intentional. NBC coaches offer a sounding board for your ideas, a critical eye in the editing process, and one-on-one support that will take your writing to the next level.
If you’re thinking about co-blogging, NBC can also help you to develop a true collaborative partnership.Visit the National Blogging Collaborative today to learn more: The NBC homepage The National Blogging Collaborative's Services Ways to get started with the National Blogging Collaborative
