Making grammar more accessible by associating it with movement, mnemonic devices, and songs and chants.

by Marie Krueger-Miller

Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8

In this series of videos, I demonstrate, along with my students, how we use our bodies, music and mnemonic devices to remember grammar rules and reinforce difficult to remember concepts.

Part One: Introduction

In part one of the workshop, I get participants on their feet to demonstrate how I use simple music excerpts to reinforce grammar concepts.

Part Two: Body Language

In part two of the workshop, I continue to demonstrate how I connect body movement to grammar and show video clips of my students performing the rules that they have mastered.

Part Three: DIY

In part three of the workshop, I invite participants to write their own mnemonics that they can use in their own classrooms to help kids remember rules or concepts.
