TeachingPartners Live Workshops are our take on the teacher-powered learning for which teachers have long advocated! They make it possible for you to learn directly from the experts you trust most: other teachers.
All year long, these live, free, credit bearing professional learning sessions deliver the classroom-tested strategies and recommendations of many of America’s most celebrated K-12 teachers. Each Workshop shares the single instructional strategy or classroom practice that a great teacher recommends most to improve outcomes for your students. Take part and receive personalized, one-one-one help developing a teaching strategy you can share right away. Verify your engagement and you can receive six hours of professional learning credit you can present to your school or district—wherever and whenever you like.
We’ve learned from thousands of teachers, and followed their suggestions to offer better ways to explore and take part in professional learning. To get started, review the roster of upcoming TeachingPartners Live Workshops and choose session that meets your interests—and your own personal schedule.
TeachingPartners Live Workshops give you the chance to pursue the professional learning that’s important to you—at a time and in a setting that best meets your needs.
Find a TeachingPartners Live Workshop you want to explore? Most offer a personal video in which your Workshop Host explains exactly how this practice works and why it matters for your students. Want to learn more? It takes just a second to register and reserve your spot for an upcoming live session.
Once you’re registered, take some time to review an even more detailed video presentation of this practice, presented to real teachers in an in-person workshop setting. Finally, introduce yourself to members of the working group established for your upcoming session.
There you have it: new skills introduced and new people to learn with–all before your Workshop even begins.
In the days leading up to your TeachingPartners Live Workshop you’ll get an email from your Workshop Host, reminding you to get ready for the upcoming session. When the time comes, connect online via Zoom, the easy-to-use online meeting software that teachers love.
In the first workshop session, you’ll meet your Host and other teachers interested in the same teaching strategy you are. With the videos you’ve already reviewed as a baseline (and sometimes with the benefit of other materials, too) you can dive in right away to exactly the information and assistance you need to begin personalizing this practice.
When the first session concludes, you’ll be ready to prepare and refine this approach in ways that work just you. Meet again the next week to ask questions, to try out ideas, and to further personalize your approach.
In the second workshop session, work together with other group members to further refine your new practice. Share your adaptation of the classroom strategy, while getting individual feedback and support that develops your ideas and generates the resources you need to be ready to share it with your own students.
Share examples of your efforts—including personalized lesson plans, instructional resources, and sample student work—so that others may incorporate what you know within their own practice. When the second sessions concludes, you’ll receive a Certificate of Participation you can share with school administrators for professional learning credit.
Then, prepared with the new skills and classroom resources you need, introduce your new practice to your students. Come back to your working group for continued support, guidance, and celebration. With TeachingPartners, you can stay connected with colleagues, co-develop and share resources, and receive ongoing suggestions and guidance that continues to fine-tune your teaching.
