“I use Twitter to help make the text-marking and annotation process a social activity for students. Students tweet their comment to our class hashtag and interact and learn from each other online. I read the class Twitter feed to see where students are and what they’ve already mastered. One additional benefit is the community it creates. Kids’ interaction outside of class encourages a better classroom environment. Students feel like they know each other better, and when it works best, every kid feels valued and wants to participate.”
