Embedded SEL Instruction

Welcome to Embedded SEL Instruction, the TeachingPartners Live Collaborative presented by NNSTOY.

Welcome to my second TeachingPartners Live Workshop on Social and Emotional Learning. This workshop presents not only my own ideas and experiences but the collective perspectives of a growing cohort of educators and teachers gathered by NNSTOY to share teacher-driven professional learning specifically related to Social and Emotional Learning.

Earlier this year, my first TeachingPartners Live Workshop introduced an important focus of our early investigations: Classroom-tested strategies for developing students’ social- and emotional-learning skills–specifically, by embedding SEL instruction in our classrooms.

In this workshop, I’ll spotlight research from the Collaborative for Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) together with my own experiences with the aim of facilitating your own use of SEL instructional techniques into your classroom. I hope you will make time to join me. Register today to take part in each of two sessions that comprise this workshop. The first takes place Wednesday April 11. The second,  a week later on April 18.

Teachers who during our time together take part in both sessions; who engage together with workgroup participants in the Workgroup Feed between sessions; and who select, develop, and describe an embedded SEL instructional technique (such as a structured group work routine, a long-term authentic task, or a series of student self-assessments) for classroom implementation will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Participation for six hours of professional learning from NNSTOY and TeachingPartners.

Please register and join us, and if you provide your phone number we’ll even text you a reminder before the session begins!
